Let me tell you a secret. Photographers love Airbnb listings because they’re fun, we get to shoot so many different styles of homes and hear the stories from the hosts. We also love to spend the time finding the perfect shot that will make your space look unique.

Here are some of my favourite things.

A tidy and clean home

It doesn’t matter if your place is not the trendiest when it comes to decor, just make sure it’s neat, the photos will look so much better!

Lamps and lights that work

Uh? Yep, so many places have lightbulbs that don’t work and yet warm lights (especially on bedside tables) can make any room look cosy and inviting.

Fruit bowls

No, I’m not expecting to get fed, but a bowl of fresh, colourful fruit can really make an empty kitchen bench or dining table pop...

Inviting dining tables

Speaking of dining tables, I love it when the table has been set! An empty table looks boring, but if you just take a few minutes to set the table, wow, what a difference it makes!.

Neatly made beds

This goes without saying, but all beds that are being photographed need to be nicely made, pillows fluffed and propped up and all the sheets tucked in..

So there you go. It isn’t hard to make an Airbnb photographer happy and I can assure you our happiness will be reflected in the photos. Now if only someone would come and do all these things in my home…
